A modern weapon system is thousands of components. A few of them are made by a single supplier outside Europe. They are cheap, obscure, and absent from every public report. If that one supplier stops, the system stops, and no qualified French source exists to replace it.

Since 2024, French law requires defense manufacturers to secure strategic stocks of critical supplies. The demand is no longer optional.
Up to €800 billion is being mobilized for European defense (the EU's ReArm Europe / Readiness 2030 plan, 2025), and France's military budget is set to reach €64 billion a year by 2027. Dedicated non-dilutive funding exists for dual-use industrial SMEs.
